Electric vehicles are growing in popularity and prominence. As more and more electric vehicles enter the roadways, understanding the benefits and intricacies of owning this type of vehicle is incredibly important as it is the future of sustainable transportation.

In this presentation, participants will learn:

  • The history of electric vehicles and how electric vehicle technology has evolved
  • The difference between hybrid vehicles and electric vehicles
  • Information about batteries and charging
  • The benefits of replacing a gas-guzzling auto with a cleaner, quieter, and less polluting electric vehicle

This presentation is designed for participants to ask questions and voice any concerns. Our staff are up to date on the latest information and technology related to electric and hybrid vehicles. 

Presenter's Bio:

Mark Schieldrop is AAA Northeast's senior spokesperson and has been with the club for five years. He is a frequent commentator on Boston-area TV and radio stations and in newspapers on topics ranging from traffic safety to travel and gas prices. When he’s not carrying out spokesperson duties, Mark advocates for traffic safety issues and is a frequent guest speaker at community events. He also supports the club's legislative efforts on traffic safety legislation at the Massachusetts State House. Before joining AAA, Mark served as press secretary and spokesperson for the City of Cranston, RI. He was also the editor of Patch in Rhode Island and a newspaper reporter at the South County Independent, covering the seaside town of Narragansett, RI.
