In today's fast-paced environment, many of us are feeling constantly rushed, busy, and nearing burnout. This 4 week course will provide you with mindfulness meditation tools to help you reduce stress and increase your inner calm and peace. During the course, we will explore how to be present to our personal experience of life's stresses and joys with more equanimity, resilience, acceptance, and loving kindness. By the end of the course, you will be ready to start your personal practice of mindfulness meditation, living with more joy and ease.
Each of the four hour-long classes will include a brief talk, a guided meditation, and time for Q and A.
Topics include What is meditation? How to focus on the breath, on the body, on thoughts, and on emotions. Teaching about Metta, self-compassion, forgiveness, and joy.
This course is for adults 18+. People of all physical abilities are welcome. This is NOT a yoga class. This is NOT a religion class.
Participants are invited to bring a cushion to sit on in the provided chairs. Students are encouraged to bring an extra layer of clothing (a sweater, shawl, etc.) as we'll be sitting still during most of the hour.
